It’s a delightful cafe in a beautiful town. The cafe has a nice warm fit out in the modern style. We had lovely service throughout. The muesli was great! Lightly toasted, nice yoghurt, and really good fruit. The brekkie buns were great too! The fruit toast made by Dench was wonderful too. Coffee here was delicious. Prices very reasonable too. This is a perfect local cafe!
After such an unpleasant brunch experience in Sale yesterday for which I wrote a disparaging review about, I feel the need to write a good review about a wonderful place I have been going back to for 12 years. I have come back to Coffee House 138 for a weekend brunch every time I come to Sale for work and am never disappointed. The food is always excellent, always plentiful, always good value, always quick. The coffee (Vittoria - my favourite) is always great. The cafe is small and comfortable and the service friendly, attentive and quick. I have tried brunch at various locations around Sale, Rosedale, Stratford and Maffra but always gravitate back to Maffra and am quite content to drive the 18 kms from Sale for a great brunch and coffee. The accompanying image is pesto scrambled eggs with a side of haloumi and a hash brown which was quite a meal. I don't think I will need lunch and probably need only a small dinner. If you are in the Sale area then you should venture up to Maffra for a great brunch.
Have a look at this one guys - what a tasty beast this was. If you're after really good Cafe style food, like you get around the traps in Melbourne - this was it. Great delux brekky burger. The bagels are also excellent, and good coffee there to boot. Recommend eating in for freshness.
